Delivery of digital files to Repro-van de Kamp |
|
At Repro-van de Kamp we are familiar with all the standard software packages on both the Mac and PC. To allow processing to run as smoothly as possible and to produce prints of the highest possible quality, the delivered files need to meet a number of requirements.
The illustrations, photos and fonts to be used must be delivered by the customer (for PC as well). Illustrations must be delivered in Illustrator EPS version 8 format. And the fonts must be embedded in PDF files.
Photographic material / scans must have an adequate resolution. For small format (up to A3) this means that the image must be 300 dpi in the final format. For large format (bigger than A3) the final format must be 150 dpi. Images must be converted to CMYK (see example). The best quality is achieved with .tiff files.
For printing exact formats we need to have a minimum overlap (trim edge) of 3 mm all round.
You can deliver files using the following:
Zip 100&250 / CD-R&RW / DVD-R&RW / USB stick / Memory card / FTP and E-mail
FTP settings:
To guarantee that your files, and ours, are absolutely safe, you can only log in on our FTP server if you use a separate FTP program: the connection method needs to be set to Active Mode, deactivating Passive Mode.
On the Mac, you can use Cyberduck or Transmit, for example.
On the PC, you can, for example, use FileZilla.
These programs have the default connection setting of Passive Mode. The help function of the relevant program will tell you how to set the connection to Active Mode.
A surcharge for additional work required on our part may apply to documents that are not delivered correctly.
